EMIQUON SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM 2012:  Using the Past to Plan for the Future

 

The University of Illinois Springfield, in cooperation with The Nature Conservancy, Dickson Mounds Museum, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, is sponsoring the fifth annual Emiquon Science Symposium. The meeting will be held on Thursday, 8 March 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Dickson Mounds Museum. Call for presentations:

We invite presentations from scientists, students, and managers involved with restoration ecology, scientific investigations, and management at the Emiquon Complex and the LaGrange Reach of the Illinois River System.  There will be two types of presentations at the meeting: oral presentations and poster presentations.   Presentations addressing the conference theme, “Using the past to plan for the future,” will be given preference. This year, we will have several special sessions on topics such as Asian Carp and Data Management.  We will also discuss the idea of publishing findings from research work done at Emiquon in a journal special edition.
