My Philosophical Family Tree

An academic family tree is a way of connecting yourself to the past by looking at your teacher, your teacher's teacher, your teacher's teacher's teacher, .... Typically, the teacher in question is your dissertation adviser. There isn't any real significance to academic family trees (in my opinion), but they are fun to trace. A family tree of nearly 13,000 philosophers has been compiled here. I happen to belong to the Leibniz family, which also happens to be the largest one.
