Sloan-C Online Workshop on
Web 2.0 in Higher Education

Facebook "Assignment"

From Wikipedia:

Facebook is a global social networking website that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc.  Users can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.  Additionally, users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region. The website's name stems from the colloquial name of books given at the start of the academic year by university administrations with the intention of helping students get to know each other better.

Specific Instructions:

Go to the Facebook website at http://www.facebook.com and register for your free account.

Then login to Facebook.  Click on the Friends tab, and then select "Invite Friends" from the pull-down menu:

Invite your friends and colleagues - even your old high school friends (and teachers).  Be prepared to spend lots and lots of time on Facebook!

You might want to join the Sloan-C group in Facebook.  There is often some new information in the discussion board for this group:

For example, there is a discussion about the upcoming Sloan-C online workshop entitled "Social Media Marketing for Online Student Recruitment and Retention".  And there are lots and lots of other Facebook groups to join.
