In response to an expressed desire by
UIS faculty to easily capture, record audio and screen, and publish
lectures from anywhere, ITS, following a successful test this
summer, is pleased to announce the launch of Camtasia Relay campus
wide. ITS wishes to thank all of the faculty, staff, and students
who helped with the Camtasia Relay test this summer.
With a simple recording interface, Camtasia Relay is able to record your PC or Mac computer screen and
audio. You do not need any special hardware to record other than a
microphone, and you do not have to be on campus to conduct your
recording. When you stop your recording, with a click of the mouse,
the content is sent immediately to a server for processing and
publication. Camtasia Relay can also be used to capture your on
campus lectures from any UIS classroom. A link to your recorded
lecture can be available on Blackboard immediately following the
lecture capture. This allows your students to replay the lecture
immediately after class and/or allows you to replay and review the
lecture for them in class. ITS has put together a
set of instructions for using Camtasia Relay.

UHB now boasts an open computer
lab in UHB 2000, just off the 2nd floor lounge.
Previously located in UHB 2030, this lab will be open
Monday - Thursday from 7:30am

Service Desk is a new web based ticketing software used by ITS and
some other service providers for resolving service requests.
In addition to submitting requests by email, phone, and walk-in,
faculty, staff, and students may now log in with their NetID and
password and create their own tickets, check the status of a
request, add comments to a request, and even close the request.
Service Desk’s automated escalations ensure timely resolution of
incidents or requests. In addition, ITS will use the reporting
features of the Service Desk for workload analysis and resource
management. We are also in the process of developing a helpdesk
knowledge base that will allow users to troubleshoot common problems

All campus telephones
capable of dialing off campus numbers (Springfield or long
distance) must now use the Access code of '7' rather than '9'. The switch from
